Talk Title: "Simulation of disruptions by magnetic reconnection and possible particle acceleration by Alfven waves at the Sun"

Abstract: 

Disruptions of magnetized plasmas are behind important astrophysical phenomena, while the physics of the magnetic reconnection behind can be tested best in the laboratory. We will present some simulation results which might explain what was observed in laboratory experiments. If this proves right one could proceed with the simulation to bridge the existing gap to astrophysical relevant reconnection. I would also like to discuss the possibility of particle acceleration by inertial Alfven waves in the Solar atmosphere which  might be proven by laboratory experiments.
