Undergraduate student Zoe Ziyan Zhu wins poster award

Undergraduate Physics major Zoe Ziyan Zhu has been selected for an "Outstanding Undergraduate Poster Award" at the 57th Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Plasma Physics, being held in Savannah, Georgia.  For the past year Ms. Zhu has been associated with the Basic Plasma Science Facility working with Professor Troy Carter and colleagues.

Ms. Zhu's research has focused on the Alfvén wave MASER in the Large Plasma Device; the resonant amplification process behind the MASER is relevant to processes in space plasmas as well as in fusion experiments.
