UCLA campus institutes

One of the strengths of the UCLA research environment is found in the variety of research institutes hosted on campus.

These institutes serve to connect researchers in focused research areas, but also across organizational lines — linking, for example researchers in the College of Letters and Science to those in the Medical School.

UCLA institutes that impact research range from very broad, multi-disciplinary initiatives having significant infrastructure, such as the California NanoSystems Institute, to smaller organizations dedicated to improved networking between scientists, such as the newly formed Center for Biological Physics.
